RIIICO wins Siemens Inventors of the Year Award 2024 in the category Open Innovation for its factory-changing AI solution

RIIICO becomes first ever startup to receive Siemens’ Inventors of the Year Award

Recognizes RIIICO’s AI technology for driving digital transformation of existing factories

Award received in category open innovation highlights solution’s end-to-end compatibility with 3rd party systems

Düsseldorf, Germany, December 4, 2024 – RIIICO, a pioneering German AI company, has become the first startup to win Siemens’ prestigious Inventors of the Year Award in Open Innovation. The award, presented by Siemens CTO Peter Koerte in Munich, recognizes RIIICO’s groundbreaking AI technology that transforms raw 3D factory scans into detailed, engineer-friendly 3D models. From carts and cables to pipes and pillars, each object is automatically extracted from 3D scans for advanced engineering workflows.

This innovation enables manufacturers to adapt production environments faster and more efficiently, addressing the growing demand for transforming and adapting existing factory environments. It bridges the gap between reality and 3D engineering workflows.
Among RIIICO’s customers are Siemens, Porsche, Volkswagen, Schaeffler, Schmitz Cargobull, Volvo Cars and many more.

“Being the first startup to receive this award highlights our team’s dedication to building a product that solves the most pressing problems of our customers – how to transform their existing factories. Since the very beginning, our users have been generating value with our solution as it provides a powerful tool for both experts and newcomers. At its core, our solution automatically generates CAD-compatible 3D data of entire factories, saving our users the time of manually modeling complex environments. We are very honored to be recognized for our efforts to supporting manufacturers in these crucial times.” said Jan Büchsenschütz, Co-Founder and COO of RIIICO who accepted the award on behalf of the team on Wednesday evening.

The award in the category Open Innovation particularly underscores three core elements of RIIICO’s product:

  1. 1. Open Integration with CAD solutions – RIIICO’s solution integrates seamlessly with advanced simulation software, notably Siemens Tecnomatix. This allows the seamless integration of RIIICO’s solution into each user’s unique 3D workflow.
  2. 2. Collaborate on realistic 3D Data – Designed for intuitive use, RIIICO’s web software enables users without a background in CAD software to interact with and understand factory layouts. This opens up new opportunities to bring diverse stakeholders (managers, engineers, suppliers) to the same ground truth.
  3. 3. Uncovering Hidden Potential – By converting 3D scans into fully segmented, engineer-friendly 3D objects, RIIICO’s technology enables users to visualize and assess new factory layouts with great clarity, identifying and leveraging previously hidden layout potentials.

Amid a period of significant transformation within the manufacturing sector, RIIICO’s solution is empowering manufacturers to bring more flexibility to the shop floor. Industrial engineers are enabled to adapt to changes in market demand quicker and reduce downtimes significantly. Faced with fierce competition, this is a real game-changer for manufacturers to make their factories fit for the future.
